That sucks and I’m sorry that happened. I know for a long time I was kind of intimidated by other femmes, but I think once you get outside of the like “highschool mean girls” social group (which is totally a part of society that exists and is really equivilent to like shitty bro culture that’s also mean and back bitey and shit) femme people are often really lovely and awesome.
I’m really appreciative of your response to my ask about masc/femme. I also really appreciate reading your thoughts because I’m dfab but skew super “masc” in my habits, career, presentation, etc and haven’t had good experiences with femme identified individuals. Honestly, they intimidated me a lot, mostly fear of social rejection. Your kindness, wit, and humor are truly helping me reconsider femmes as stuck up/scary/prissies and consider trying to make some femme friends. Broader worldview FTW!!
