does everyone on here know that in Britain there is a political party called Class War?
here their policies
they’re not a real political party, they’re an anarchist group.
they are a party, they call themselves that and are running in the General Election in May, they’ve got candicates up
oh wow really? Every time I’ve heard of them they’ve been kind of like, guerrilla theatre types, like marching down the streets of a rich neighborhood with a banner that had an (alleged) Lucy Parsons quote: “Behold your future executioners”; and they were just more about protest and chaos than actual campaigning. They especially seemed like anti-electoral types.
yeah they do tend to do really shouty stuff and the election thing is sorta a joke/publicity stunt i think? it’s like when people on tumblr are being really surreal, unless they genuinely are trying to have a stage to talk to the working class from (which i thing is pointless and ineffective for a few reasons). Also, i think they’re like a loose network of people that come together to do this stuff whenever Ian Bone (their leader) makes a callout every few years
It’s weird the way “public schools” are talked about in Britain. Abolishing public schools in America is a super-right-wing neoliberal idea. Those are our state-funded, free-to-attend schools in America. What are they in UK?
In the UK a public school is what we call a private or prep school. They’re for ultra posh kids.
