While in police custody she was tortured and sexually abused by white male police officers. White feminist rally for white women who kill their abusive husbands. But they won’t rally with a black woman who *Allegedly* fired back at racist white cops that were trying to kill her for no reason?

Assata Shakur is my favorite.  She also eventually left the panthers because she didn’t like the amount of misogyny she saw going on.  Assata Shakur should be a fucking feminist icon, and the fact that she’s not treated as one is a goddamned embarrassment and we should be ashamed of ourselves.
