like dude if you can’t understand the difference between actual sex workers’ content and amateur people putting up free shit for funsies I’m kind of concerned what kind of porn you’ve been watching
one is made by someone whose income depends on producing quality content, factors like lighting, filming process, editing, and marketing go into the success. if someone’s doing it for free just to be #edgy their porn is going to be shit because they don’t depend on it being quality they just want to post a video of them fucking themselves for free. this isn’t even an argument. you get what you pay for (or rather, don’t)

this reminds me of that ask where someone was like “I put up nudes on tumblr, just for fun lol AM I A SEX WORKER??”

also “I do pole dancing BUT I AM ABSOLUTELY NOT A STRIPPER I RESPECT MYSELF but I face whorephobia :(”
@ civilians: STOPPPPPPPP

That said: respect sex workers who do amature looking content, they may still be learning, or hey, that “rough around the edges” quality may be part of their business model.  Like a sex worker’s deserving to be treated like a human being does not depend on how “quality” the content you think their content is.

Like this rubs me the wrong way a little bit because I feel like it’s really easy to use this to perpetuate lateral whorephobia/demean workers who aren’t “up to snuff” in terms of the content they create

^^exactly. Some sex workers aren’t able (financially, physically, whatever) to take professional looking clips and photos. Or maybe they’re targeting clients who want content that looks like the girl next door made it for him with her phone just for funsies. Either way, they’re not really infringing on your market most likely, and you can still be a sex worker and produce stuff that’s not “quality.”

please read my other posts about this and gather context.

THIS IS LITERALLY ABOUT CIVILIANS YOU GUYS

Obviously, but this part:

I’m kind of concerned what kind of porn you’ve been watching
one is made by someone whose income depends on producing quality content, factors like lighting, filming process, editing, and marketing go into the success.

was kind of problematic. That’s all. And presumably you and ivyaura both know that, so it was more of a PSA for fellow sex workers in general.
