‘sex work’ equates a woman’s body and autonomy with a hamburger, or a bale of hay, or any other object or service being sold. this is one reason why the support society has for porn, stripping and…

The parts that make my work “empowering” include: getting to choose my clients (there are certain clients I won’t go up with), getting to choose which services I give, getting to choose the days I work, getting to call in sick with no repercussions, making enough money to live comfortably for the week in 2 days, getting to choose what I want to wear.

This doesn’t just go for sex work either. Anyone in any industry who is allowed this kind of choice would find it empowering.

At the end of the day work is work.

Still work tho’ and having to work is shitty.  Like I’m glad you make great money, but not all sex workers have that kind of freedom for economic and other reasons, and we still have to work to survive.

Like, I don’t think we should have to find our work empowering for it to be legitimate work.
