Ok….but….some of us are. And thanks for throwing us under the fucking bus. Who the fuck does it help exactly when you insist that feminism is all about skinny, shaved straight girls?
If feminists were skinny, shaved straight girls then straight men might want to get on board…..and feminists would hate that….
So you’re prioritizing STRAIGHT MEN joining the movement, over the QUEER WOMEN who are already in the movement? Yeah, that’s pretty shitty actually. Like the entire idea that you have to make the public face of feminism as FUCKABLE to straight men as possible is just disgustingly against the point of feminism.
Well, feminism says that patriarchy is the big problem, who better to take it down than men?
The same reason you don’t make arsonists into firefighters. While straight men can make good ALLIES to the feminist movement, they are not and never will be MORE IMPORTANT to the movement than the queer women who are already here.
We do not need to present ourselves as pretty and as fuckable as possible to entice men into the movement. That’s ridiculous and counter productive.
Like doing that is literally the opposite of the point, the point is that women are human beings and our sexual attractiveness to a dominant group shouldn’t determine whether or not we get treated like people.
Straight men who get that can be feminists (but aren’t always because they can suck for other reasons) but straight dudes who do not get that are never ever going to be useful to feminism.
