Even criminalised workers pay taxes, like that’s how they got Al Capone, the IRS gives no fucks about whether how you get your money is legal, but if you have it and there’s any paper trail (and there is nearly always a paper trail except in the most casualized of situations) they will make you pay your income tax.
Is it alright if I ask you a question? I support sex work 100% and as someone who is not a sex worker, I want to know how I can defend you guys without saying stupid shit or something. Also, I have heard actual people talk about how if sex work was decriminalized, it would be taxed and that sex workers would all throw a hissy fit about it. Can I get your thoughts on that and how to educate people on the matter with input from actual sex workers?
