A Short Synopsis of Every Discussion of Sex Work

Random Civilians: Sex work is terrible, woah, every sex worker hates their job and was forced into it and it’s the same thing as slavery.
Sex workers: I mean, most people in sex work aren’t trafficked. And most trafficked people aren’t sex workers.
Civilians: But people become sex workers because they hate themselves and have daddy issues or something, I’m pretty sure.
Sex workers: Those… those aren’t the reasons why we do that?
Civilians: Well, Every sex worker would leave their job if they had the choice for something great like trafficked agricultural day-laboring, or sub-minimum wage food service.
Sex Workers (by now, an overwhelming number): As not great as it is, sometimes it’s better than other options? Or maybe people should present better alternatives? Either way, that’s not the case.
Civilians: Well, you’re just bourgeois liberal choice feminists. All the sex workers who happen to not be in this conversation, and seem to never enter these conversations, agree with me.
