Also I totally believe that being a house spouse is a form of sex work/domestic labor

Cause like you get paid for fucking, childcare, and domestic work. It’s just a non stigmatized form of sex work. So like these dudes wives are really sex workers in a sense too, so like if we can arrange solidarity between sex workers against dudes that’d be really cool

I mean yeah traditional housewife? You’re basically a full time full service worker with one client, but society doesn’t think of you as a whore so you try to distance yourself from sex workers. Being a sex worker isn’t a bad thing, it’s just a thing.

You can’t be serious. That is not sex work at all, that is so fucking insulting and can you not do this?? You can be in solidarity with sex workers without claiming to be one because you’re a housewife, and “wh*re” is a slur against sex workers so unless you’re a full service sw you shouldn’t be saying it. But god this is incredible. Housewives are sex workers now. Civilians amaze me. 😒

That’s literally the dumbest shit I’ve ever read. Whether OP is a sex worker or not. I can’t even with that post.

I’m not suggesting that they can be a part of the sex workers rights movement, use the word wh*re, or be treated like they’ve experienced any of the same shit we have.  They provide sexual labor in exchange for the means of living, but they don’t experience wh*rephobia.

Like the point of this analysis is “these women are also paid for sexual labor, but because society doesn’t class them as sex workers they are treated completely differently”

Except being a housewife doesn’t correlate to being “paid for sexual labor”. Like at all. Sex, if present, isn’t a transaction, it’s a part of the relationship. Not saying that there aren’t individuals who treat it as strictly transactional, it’s totally fine if they do, but lumping ALL housewives into that category based on the mindset a of a few is stupid.

If a housewife doesn’t fulfill certain domestic duties, and a certain amount of sexual labor she is liable to end up divorced.  This is not a complete analysis, it’s not intended to include emotion or relationships, this is an intentional simplification, this is through a Marxist labor analysis framework, which can be a useful viewpoint to have on a situation, but shouldn’t be the only one used
