You can be in solidarity with sex workers without claiming to be one because you’re a housewife, and “wh*re” is a slur against sex workers so unless you’re a full service sw you shouldn’t be saying it. I’m a professional dominatrix and pso, not a civilian and I’ve heard various things re: wh*re, like some full service workers say refusing terms like wh*rephobia is lateral wh*rephobia because we’re distancing ourselves from full services workers.

I said they’re sex workers/domestic workers, they provide a dual function: sex and domestic labor for the spouse who supports them.

I said it’s a non-stigmatized form of sex work, which means it looks very different from all other (stigmatized) forms.

Generally, a homemaker who doesn’t provide a certain amount of domestic/sexual labor is either told to get a job by their spouse, or divorced.  It’s in part sexual labor in exchange for the means of life.

That doesn’t mean they can be a part of our movement, because they’re not stigmatized, and not oppressed by wh*rephobia, just like a CEO is technically an employee but can’t make demanding a pay increase for themselves part of the labor movement’s demands.
