Cause like you get paid for fucking, childcare, and domestic work. It’s just a non stigmatized form of sex work. So like these dudes wives are really sex workers in a sense too, so like if we can arrange solidarity between sex workers against dudes that’d be really cool
I mean yeah traditional housewife? You’re basically a full time full service worker with one client, but society doesn’t think of you as a whore so you try to distance yourself from sex workers. Being a sex worker isn’t a bad thing, it’s just a thing.
You can’t be serious. That is not sex work at all, that is so fucking insulting and can you not do this?? You can be in solidarity with sex workers without claiming to be one because you’re a housewife, and “wh*re” is a slur against sex workers so unless you’re a full service sw you shouldn’t be saying it. But god this is incredible. Housewives are sex workers now. Civilians amaze me. 😒
That’s literally the dumbest shit I’ve ever read. Whether OP is a sex worker or not. I can’t even with that post.
Yea erase sex workers who are also house spouses as well in your whorephobic way.
Doesn’t house spouse mean not doing other work currently? From what I’ve always understood the definition of homemaker is someone who doesn’t have other employment
Well a homemaker/house spouse is just someone who is doing most of the housework and caring for the home, which you don’t necessarily have to be unemployed for. Plus there are tons of sex workers who work from home. Cam girls are the first who come to mind atm. I know some stay at home moms who are employed but still consider themselves to be housewives since they work remotely.
I do a fair bit of work from home, but I was thinking of the arrangement where the spouse is the homemaker’s sole support. Is there a term for that? Like “single wage earner household” doesn’t quite fit for usage.
You know, I actually thought housewife/husband *was* the term for the longest time until I met women who are stay-at-homes but still employed. So I don’t know, tbh! I feel like most people still use housewife/husband for that? Like, my mom was exactly in that situation you’re describing but she just called herself a housewife/stay at home mom so idk. Maybe it is the term but it’s just flexible/broad in terms of its…terms? But also I’m not even in a cohabitational relationship so I acknowledge that I’m far from an authority or anything on this topic but I am curious to know!
I’m also curious, but yeah as you can probably tell, the original post wasn’t as meant to be read the way it was. I need to work on being clearer
