Small businesses are a form of commercial capitalism. They are capitalism in its purest form, which is giving someone what they want and receiving money (in a small scale). So every time you shit on capitalism, you’re shitting on hard-working, talented, dedicated, skillful, and patient people. These people take a stand for what they believe in and dedicate their time and lives to what they want to give the world. Every time you make a “smash capitalism” post, you’re shaming crafters, farmers, caretakers, cooks, tailors, thrift shop owners, and more. If you can’t support these people, you’re messed up.

Members of the petit-bourgeoisie still exploit the survival needs of the working class and participate in wage slavery, and fetishization of the so-called “middle class”/”Small Businesses” is a classic fascist tactic.

Reminder that McDonald’s was once a local restaurant, just as wal mart was once a mom and pop shop. small businesses are the embryonic forms of larger scale, international operations. The successful ones are the ones who are able to out maneuver competitors, and gradually monopolizing whatever market they cater to or create.

small business is the primary push behind parties like ukip and people like ron paul. since economies of scale have higher profit margins, the sort of regulations that protect workers are viewed by them as unjust impositions by big government that increase overhead and decrease profits. at the same time, small business is typically unable to make use of cheap immigrant labour the way big business is, so consequently they view immigration as an unfair market practice and want to end free movement of labour without ending free movement of capital.

Please note that small business owners =/= everyone who’s self employed or classed as an independent contractor, if you don’t employ anyone you’re not petite bourgeois. I’m classed as an independent contractor with niteflirt (which sucks actually) and have my own dungeon, but I’m not an employer and couldn’t afford to be one, also I fully agree with smashing capitalism
