I mean honestly I find cspan useful for keeping track of the government, jacobin is okay, and just accepting that Al Jazeera and BBC and NPR have some liberal (as in liberal as opposed to left) bias, and then just like checking everyone’s sources but like also I think like there’s something flawed about the concept of news, like the idea there’s some set of current events that’s relevant or necessary for everyone is weird. Like what information is useful or necessary to any individual varies, like I don’t really need to know about advances in aquarium technology but some people do and it’s obviously impossible for any one person to be aware of everything occurring everywhere, And like I find the approach we have to world news is super weird (as we get the most garbled biased versions of news from outside the anglosphere)
. Also like I find like choosing to curate my social media feeds for like shit I’m interested in and to limit anti-communist bias, because like I trust the editorial bias of certain friends of mine more than any big media source
