Even if you don’t consider something “property,” things can only physically exist in one place at a time. It is impossible for someone who currently possesses something, call it property, to simultaneously be possessed by someone else. This is best illustrated with something like a book, but it applies to all property in principle. (For example, a house can be co-owned for sure, but the two owners can’t renovate the house the way they personally want it to be at the same time as the other.) You can only physically take the property from them, which is an aggressive act. If someone claims ownership of a book and holds it, and you don’t recognize it as their property you would have to physically remove the book from their hands. Considering that simply holding a book is not an aggressive act, or violating anyone’s rights, the initiation of aggressive force is where the violence (physically overpowering some other person to take their stuff) starts not when the person claims ownership of property.

That’s why socialists and communists always talk about a post scarcity world, or a world without scarcity. No such world exists. If such a world existed then there would be no need for property rights, since all conflicts that would require property rights to resolve are about living in a world of scarce resources. Post-scarcity is literally a fantasy scenario built in a vacuum and has no real world relevance whatsoever.

did you skip the sesame street episode on sharing? lmfao

non aggression principle, so long as we don’t talk about initial acquisition which is often based on war and genocide – because when communists talk about property we aren’t talking about someones fucking book we’re talking about the means of production, the resources needed to produce and reproduce social life. but whatever. enjoy your strawman. After all, it’s definitely your property

Is this a serious rebuttal?
