Lmao why are a large majority of q*eer theorists so pro-porn and willing to defend the ‘sex industry’ (prostitution), while simultaneously throwing the millions of women and children violated and degraded in prostitution all around the world under the bus. Like they’ll go to lengths to present the stories of the privileged and rich white women who feel ‘empowered’, while completely ignoring the narrative of the countless South-East Asian, East Asian, and Indigenous and black women suffering violence at the hands of men in these industries.

you get that a hugely disproportionate fraction of the sex worker population is not straight and/or not cis, right?  and that part of why we’re “defending the sex industry” is because many of us, specifically because of our queerness, don’t have access to other means of survival? 

(i’m not even going to address the “empowerment” red herring or your cavalier speaking over of non-white, non-western sex workers, who are more than capable (better at it than us, by any rubric) of speaking for themselves, and organizing for their rights.  weirdly, they don’t want to be “rescued” via arrest any more than we do.)

It’s amazing how these whorephobes continue to use this “privileged white women” argument while ignoring all the peer-based sex workers rights organizations outside of white western nations, and the presence of LGBT POC in the sex worker rights movement in countries like the UK, USA, Aus, Europe etc etc.

Yup, like my fave sex worker’s rights activist is a WOC and trafficking survivor so SWERFs can go suck an egg
