This one is a request from one of our followers, and I think it’s going to make an interesting post not only because of the beloved and varied cast of characters, but because of the werewolf character’s heightened olfactory senses.
I have several possible thoughts on how lycanthrope’s preferences re: sillage. I could see them choosing subtler scents so as not to have it obscure their olfactory abilities, I could see them preferring strong scents to filter out all the olfactory “noise” so that they can enjoy the scent they choose, or I can see them possibly having a hierarchy/territorial marking behavior dealy
Scott:
Starts out with
Nautica Voyage
Before becoming a werewolf, I imagine Scott would have worn a basic, cheap modern masculine like this one, not really thinking about scent.
After becoming a werewolf he’d experiment with scent and find he likes
Costume National Scent Intense
This unique blend of warm amber with fresh tea and florals is unique and long lasting. It’s likable just like Scott.
Derek Hale:
Robert Piguet Bandit
His mother and sister wore it, and although it’s intended for women, this dark, intense animalic suits Derek’s brooding intensity.
Stiles Stillinski:
Guess Seductive Homme
A popular sugary sweet scent that’s known for being popular with the ladies, Stiles would almost unquestionable choose something like this in the beginning but would move on to
Bvlgari The Rouge
Still sweet with notes of sugary fig and warm walnut, this tea based fragrance is a touch more sophisticated, possibly something bought for him as a present by Scott.
Lydia Martin:
Starts with
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle
An obvious choice for the rich, popular young woman. She downplays her own personality and goes with what will get her social approval, Coco Mademoiselle is a perfume everyone and their kid sister wears and loves, and it was great scent (until the reformulation) however as Lydia comes to terms with her own personality and individuality I believe she’d choose
John Galliano John Galliano
An ethereal ghostly scent with an undercurrent of sensuality in its haunting incense and iris composition. Perfect for the beautiful banshee with a genius IQ.
Alison Argent:
Versace Crystal Noir
The coconut contrasts with pepper and other spices in this unique composition, it is like Alison, liminal, between the ambrous and spicy scents of an adult woman and the fruitiness of a teenage fragrance, caught between loyalty to family and loyalty to Scott.
Sheriff Stilinski:
Givenchy Gentleman
His wife probably bought him this early on in their relationship, brought him replacement bottles on holidays when he ran out, after she died, he’s kept on buying it because it reminds him of her.
Melissa McCall:
Jean Paul Gaultier Classique
Feminine, likable, a safe choice, but just a little bit sexy, like Melissa herself.
Chris Argent:
Yagatan by Caron
Smells like a forest, he wears it more to cover his scent when tracking wolves than because he gives a shit. His wife probably gave him a bottle and he found himself stealthier when hunting. He’s worn it ever since
Jackson Whittemore:
Armani Acqua Di Gio
Douchey, metallic smelling, fancy, it just screams Jackson.
Peter Hale:
Salvador Dali Pour Homme
Dark smelling, something sinister in this patchouli and oakmoss composition
