I found a really useful website (and then lost it, and then found it) for looking up city ordinances regarding sex work.
I know a lot of times what the actual law says doesn’t mean a whole lot in practice but it can still be a good thing to know. I worked in a club where I had NO IDEA basically everything we were doing was illegal until the city decided to do some election-year busts. Thanks, management!

The website is called Municode (municode.com). You can look up your state and then city through the “Code Library” menu or just google your city/state + municode. There’s a search box in the upper right, usually the term “adult” brings up what I’m looking for, but depending on what kind of work you do you may need to try other terms (such as “escort”).

It also tells you the date the content was last updated, and when the most recent ordinance was enacted, which can help you determine how up-to-date it is.
