I live in Providence and I love my city more than words can say. I’ve lived places bigger and more glamorous, hell I’m a native of New York city (and it is a wild, beautiful terrifying place where you can drink till morning and kiss lips that taste of 20 dollar drinks), but beautiful, haunted, half forgotten Providence, city of great artists to be, and generations of horror writers? You have my heart.
New York may have St. Marks, and the birthplace of punk, but you don’t have Poe and Lovecraft (and Kiernan’s) Atheneum.
Boston may be bigger, but it lacks the charm of this city of ghosts. This city is quiet, it does not bustle and for that I love it all the more.
Also why is there no goth scene here? It seems like all the goths live in SoCal and Florida (which are really inappropriate places for goths to live if you think about it) and there are none in Dunedin and Providence which are proper places for goths to live.
