That’s not really libertarian socialism, that’s more social-democracy. Libertarian Socialism is more like, Rojava, rather than say, Sweden.

Rojava is capitalist too…….

I’m talking about the YPG/YPK which is basically a synthesis of Bookchin and Lenin so I wouldn’t call them capitalist.

Nah, they have got capital interest at the heart of their programme. It has a funky council system, but it is bent towards control in favour of the bourgeois interests of business and land holders.

Libertarian Socialism is more like “If the market was actually free, we would end up with socialism.”

Libertarian Socialists define capitalism as “the rule of capital” not “the free market.”  This is related to  the theories of the Ricardian socialists.  This is the reason for the phrase “free market anti-capitalism.”  It’s individualism with an emphasis of worker ownership, the cost principle, the labor theory of value.

Edit: A lot of it is based on the concepts of individualism that developed as a response to the failure of the Robert Owen’s paternalist experiment in America.

Edit2: what distinguishes Libertarian Socialists from “vulgar” Right-Libertarians is the belief in the labor theory of value, which ancaps believe to be debunked.  Libertarian Socialists see the Libertarians of the right as apologists for state capitalism through their abandonment of the labor theory of value, which enables them to justify absentee landlordism, and other forms of usury.

Edit3: it makes sense that advocates of state socialism would not recognize libertarian socialism as actual socialism, because their concept of socialism involves what they believe to be a level of justified coercion for the greater good.  Bertrand Russel actually made a pretty good breakdown of the differences between anarchic and statist forms of socialism in Proposed Roads to Freedom.

The terms libertarian socialist, libertarian communist, and anarchist communist are synonymous.

libertarian socialists are like all anti-authoritarian leftist tendencies, syndicalists, left coms, ancoms and so on
