Hello fellow kids!
If you live in Providence, RI or Richmond, VA, please tell me what these places are like! Pretend you’re talking to a kind of cool mom.
Are there co-ops? What are laws about having pet ducks and pigs? What are the good neighbourhoods? Reasonably priced produce? Are there bookstores? Are there sinkholes? Earthquakes? I already understand about hurricanes.Thank you in advance!
Also considering Louisville because I know that it is cute and cheap and am already familiar with the layout. But that might be weird.
@thepeacockangel don’t you live in RI and think we should all move there?
I do! Ok so in providence Smithhill and Olneyville are nice old fashioned working class, racially I diverse neighborhoods, Foxpoint is fancier but not as Fancy as college hill, around Vernon st there’s reasonable rent next to nice food, there is a kinda bougie food coop downtown, there are also nice farmers markets, there’s a super nice atheneum to hang out in, excellent coffee several places along wickenden, also Narragansett is a very drinkable cheap Union made beer. If you’re looking to be more rural but not super rural parts of Cranston are a good bet and I’m pretty sure they let you keep pigs.
Off topic but it’s my post so I can derail, have you ever read Caitlin Kiernan’s books, because she has a bunch of providence centric books that would be a big perk to moving back imo. Like just adding a creepy depth to already creepy providence!
Not only have I read her books, I know her, and she’s awesome
