I think the Est*e Edit is supposed to be because young people don’t buy Est*e l*uder? Like Kendall Jenner, matte blue lips, bb cream I’m still not buying tysm

yeah i think it’s funny that these big, older brands are doing soooo much to try to capture young and/or trend focused audiences that they end up sounding like hillary clinton on the campaign trail lmao.

folks buying makeup these days are so incredibly educated about products’ pros and cons and what works for them and their skin… and they’re not afraid to buy either high or low end to get what they consider the best product. so these brands that have been around for decades feel entitled to a piece of the beauty dollar pie but they don’t actually want to have to change anything fundamental to get it! i just think it’s so funny… the big drugstore brands upped their games years ago, but it seemed like the dept store ‘luxury’ brands always felt they were too good to bother. so i just end up laughing at lanc*me and e.l. bc they did this to themselves.

and imo it’s not even entirely an issue of branding bc the same products repackaged in a slick way still wouldn’t sell. they’re just not anything to write home about.

I love youth dew though
