Being reminded that I’m almost certainly going to spend the rest of my life in a society where I have to deal with being on the wrong side of patriarchy on a daily basis is really depressing. It’s just like “Oh right, to a lot of people I’m not really quite a person, thanks for reminding me.”

Why are you putting yourself down?

I’m not, I’m awesome.  I’m complaining about the way society treats me.

Society treats you or the perceived way they treat you?

Percieved.

I’m treated just like everyone else. I’m only treated better because I’m attractive.

Hasn’t it been proven that those who are considered attractive are treated infinitely better than those that aren’t?

Depends on the situation, but overall, yes, but our standards of attractiveness are heavily based on a lot of oppressive bullshit so like eh… and it’s still the difference between getting treated like a pretty sofa vs. an ugly sofa, like yeah people definitely treat the ugly sofa significantly worse, but ultimately, you’re still getting treated like an object and once you get some staining or you go out of style, well then you’re the ugly sofa.
