I feel like in open carry states, all black people should be given automatic concealed carry permits until it stops (and here’s hoping it will) being dangerous for them to open carry.

not that skin color actually matters, but skin color has no bearing on whether or not a law is repealed or not. lets not forget all gun control laws has historically be meant to disarm the coloreds and underprivileged class.

It is likely white people and black people carry concealed at similar rates adjusting for population. 

We live in a society where skin color matters intensely because black people live in constant fear (even more than the rest of us) of being murdered by police if they’re seen with even a fucking toy gun.  Little black kids can’t play with BB guns for fear of getting the cops called on them and being shot.

Like the fact that we treat black people when they even might have a gun is an immense violation of their second amendment rights.  I have several black friends who would like to own guns and go sport shooting and they’re afraid to because they’re scared of potential police violence.

I am black, and I know black individuals who do get involved in shooting sports.

this is purely anecdotal, just like your ‘I have several black friends’… 

Black people by and large make up a significant portion of gun owners.

It seems like your friends need to get over their fears, learn the law, and purchase firearms in accordance with the laws, and carry said firearms in accordance with the laws.

I’d suggest you look up ‘Huey Newton Gun club Dallas’ They conduct regular open carry marches throughout neighborhoods in dallas, while I don’t agree particularly with their message, I agree with them openly exercising their rights.

(white) Gun owners by and large welcome any individual safely and legally carrying firearms. They will gladly accept any ally to their cause of protecting the right to keep and carry firearms without any further infringements on their rights.

I don’t know where you live, but something like 45 states have shall issue laws, which means if you aren’t a felon you can gain a concealed carry permit, for a state mandated fee of course, and there is precedence being set for ‘constitutional carry’ meaning the ‘Second Amendment is your carry permit’.

i’ve open carried in Washington State, while running errands, and I haven’t been stopped or shot.

I’ll say again, if you are carrying openly in accordance with the laws of your state, you will not be harassed. Private property owners can and might ask you to vacate the property, and that is within their right.

The Huey Newton Gun Club is awesome (if I’m correct their politics are ones I quite like)

I’m in RI, concealed carry permits are issued by the AG and they haven’t issued one in years.
