I mean I think control over your own appearance is psychologically important but also empowering is a meaningless garbage term at this point and yes

That we truly have “control” over our appearance is a capitalist myth as well because our options are limited to what is provided to is through capitalist means

The idea that one can be a truly conscientious consumer or maintain some sense of control through making such choices is an extension of the myth of empowerment

Oh I don’t believe in ethical consumption, but like humans have been wearing makeup and shit since primitive communism and will continue after we achieve communism again.  We like decorating shit.  It’s what we do.
