I mean that’s definitely why. Women who hear what the word “feminist” means from TV are going to oppose it. Women who hear what it means from a college textbook are going to support it. This may be changing a bit, feminism has re-entered pop culture to some extent. But really just the word, not much of the content.

Well also the mainstream feminist movement in the US keeps ignoring working class women’s needs in favor of bougie women’s ones cause it’s mostly bougie women in it, y’ know?
