Like men are able to get away with never expressing of requesting help with their feelings because women are trained from a very young age to observe men, watch for signs of emotional need and environmental stressors and deal with them without being asked. It’s why women worry constantly about emasculating the men in their lives but men never worry about “efeminating” the women in their lives.
Men are “stoic” only because they don’t have to communicate in order to get their emotional needs met.
I thought that in the year 2016 we are supposed to be at the point where we don’t judge and make generalizations about people based on their race, gender, creed, etc, but when it serves an agenda, I guess it’s okay.
I know you’re a gross porn blog who makes some… interesting generalizations in your blog description and you’re not going to listen to me, but I’m actually going to make a point here cause I think what you said shows an important misunderstanding of oppression.
I am not saying every man does this, I am saying that societally this is a behavior that is allowed and encouraged for men. We need to be able to discuss things like this, systems of power, the effects they have, what they do if we hope to dismantle them, shutting up about oppression has never solved anything.
Even you must admit there are certain forms of behavior that are encouraged in some groups and discouraged in others. Discussing what these are and why is not making a generalization about an entire group, it’s talking about a social phenomenon.
It’s not about you as an individual it is about the bigger picture of systems of power that exist within society.
