no offense but how can one claim that men aren’t entitled to sex or to women’s bodies and in the same breath say that they support full decriminalization?
how are we supposed to raise a generation of boys who don’t see women as objects when advertisements for brothels are everywhere and they can order a woman like they would a pizza?
we cannot normalize male entitlement by saying “we must maintain a group of women who are always available to satisfy men, whose job it is to cater to men’s sexual desires” and also expect to build a society in which men don’t feel entitled to sex and to women’s bodies.
what is this world you’re all envisioning in which objectification and liberation live together in perfect harmony?
its a world where we believe that sex workers safety is more important than moralism. ANY form of criminalization of sex work is human rights breach towards us. and lobbying for anything but a full decriminalization is perpetuating violence and stigma against us. even your precious nordic model has been proven to be immensinly harmful:
– in my country (with nordic model) if i got raped while doing sex work at home i would be thrown out of my apartment (this is called operation homeless)
– i can go to jail for 6 months for advertising my services
– taking away our income by criminalazing buyers is literally saying you would rather we starve to death than be hookers for nothing but idealogial reasons (newsflash: criminalizing sex work doesnt make it go away)
– condoms are used as proof of u selling sex and since buying is criminalized and sex workers are scared of losing clients; the increase of unprotected sex has been huge after the lawand if u want sources on that i suggest reading the report by amnesty on why anything but full deciminalization is a severe breach of sex workers rights to protection against violence, its fittingly called “the human cost of crushing the marked“, look it up and educate yourself. lsiten to sex workers when we talk. or else admit that you dont care about us being murdered and raped as long as you get your moralistic laws.
…we live under capitalism, you cannot be entitled to something you have to pay for.
Also like does being able to order a pizza teach people that they can just demand pizza from… whoever? No, that’s clearly completely irrational. You have to call someone who’s selling pizza and then pay for the damn pizza and yet and yet SOMEHOW DESPITE BEING ABLE TO ORDER PIZZA LIKE PIZZA we don’t feel entitled to pizza whenever. We don’t feel entitled to pizza when we can’t afford it, we don’t feel entitled to pizza at a Thai place, we don’t feel entitled to pizza when the place is shut. Being able to buy pizza does not make us feel entitled to pizza just like being able to buy sex doesn’t make you feel entitled to sex. THINK ABOUT YOUR ANALOGIES.
I am not an object. I am a person who sells a service. Next you’re going to be arguing that plumbers make people feel entitled to force any mustachioed man to work on their pipes without their consent.
