every time someone qualifies capitalism (”late capitalism”, “unfettered capitalism” etc) it makes me uncomfortable because like, do you think early capitalism was good? would a few fetters fix this shithole? i think not. every conceivable form of capitalism is fucking evil and should be abolished.
I don’t think early capitalism was good, however I think there’s a material difference between early and late capitalist conditions (early capitalism meant certain policies that allowed for primitive acquisition and so on, which were also horrible in their own special evil terrible way) just like there was early and late feudalism… otherwise tho, yeah
When it comes to systems of power tho, what is “good”? I think we can qualify capitalism in the sense that it has evolved to be even more rapacious in nature recently but it’s a very old saying that every system of power is the worst thing since the one that came before it.
And I guess that brings me to my question: is a utopia (meaning the world/systems of power/trade systems that are not exploitative of anyone) even possible for a large population of human beings?
I mean as an anarcho-communist I have to believe so. Humans are ingenious and adaptable creatures. Surely we can do better than this.
