In my opinion, it’s about what is perceived as forbidden. Erotica is heavily coded as women’s work, and so making a man the focus of Someone’s sexual appetite is risqué. For women, masculinity is punished, which makes it exciting.

But femininity is punished for men, in fact punished far more severely than it is for women and that doesn’t explain why the man is hypermasculine in said eroticism.
