There’s a book literally called “The Monstrous-Feminine” by Barbara Creed that talks about the point you make in your last post specifically applied to the horror genre (focusing largely on films, if i remember correctly) and it’s AWESOME, if a bit heavy on the academic language. But reading it a little at a time is fabulous.
