I was lucky to be married to a rich man who was kind and good and did not cheat (only because of his devout faith). However, the power imbalance is real. My sole purpose was to obey him, please him, have as many children as HE wanted, and let him shine as the star. Despite my best efforts he was increasingly critical of me. He ended up loosing all his money and then passing away from cancer, leaving me penniless to raise four young children.

I’m sorry you went through that, it sounds really tough
