People who’ve clearly never left their “the worst of critical theory” tower are THE WORST.
It’s like HAVE YOU NEVER BEEN EXPOSED TO ANYTHING OTHER THAN TRASH FREUDIANISM, CRAP READINGS OF FOUCAULT AND ALL OF FUCKING DWORKIN? BECAUSE I’M THINKING NO.
Would you be willing to recommend some readings? Foucault comes up in my study a lot, so I probably will read that stuff to gasp it a little better in the context of passing my study, but I definitely want to read better stuff of critical theory.
I fully understand if you don’t want tho.I mean like Foucault is a ton of fun to read (if… not an ideal historian). Like actually reading Freud and absorb the fact that he was a man open to doubt, not the cock-sure messiah a lot of theory treats him as. Read critiques of Freud, and then read Foucault and Adorno and what not, but take it with a grain of salt. Leave the house, talk to regular working class people, stay grounded. Double check the facts of the history they’re building their houses on.
Read Marx, read Malatesta, read Rosa Luxemburg. Stay grounded.
