Not in the US but all of last year I could only find 2 places to work where I could feel reasonably secure in making at least $100 in a 6-9 hour shift. Both of them were intolerable to work at long term but working indie has been dead quiet. Ended up having to go back to school so I could get a student loan to cover living costs. I know it’s whorephobic & classist but I feel really ashamed to be a whore & not even be able to afford not to live with my parents?? Mid/end of 2015, I was planning on spending 3 months on holiday in Croatia just because I don’t like NZ summers ffs.

Most parlours over here were established during the 80s & 90s when business was booming and it wasn’t as easy for girls to do private work, so there are too many to accomodate the decreased clientele. The amount of parlours that have recently closed in my town demonstrates how the landscape has changed. The online component has made it a lot easier for private girls to advertise and for clients to access them and I think that’s knocked a huge chunk out of brothel profits along with the generally shitty economy.
I know quite a few private girls who are still making very good money, but it definitely ain’t what it used to be.
