and I do wish people would stop mistaking me for one, but of course I do impersonate one at work so c’est la vie.

Magic I think is, essentially, processes by which we attempt to achieve various ends without a solid understanding of why what we’re doing will achieve those ends.
Like… IDK we didn’t understand what the physics behind ribbon curling (you know the kind you curl with scissors) until like 2015, but we did know that ribbon curled when you did the things… and like for a long time we didn’t understand why it was that forged iron implements got stronger when rapidly quenched in water, but like they did when we did the thing so we did the thing.
So magic is just us like… doing that basically and like we’re not sure which elements are important or why they work or how they work… or even 100% that they do work, but like… y’ know?

So I found this on the batshit weird Satanic Reds webpage and it makes me happy.

wait i am dumb you didn’t even mention bpal you are literally talking JUST about her, not relating her traits to the scent… please pretend this isn’t happening lol.
I don’t wear a lot of BPAL at this point D: but also they’ve neglected Naamah and thus cannot be forgiven.
A Few Notes on Agrat Bat Mahlat
So having channelled Agrat, I have a few insights on her that I thought I’d share. She is like the other three consorts of Lucifer associated with sex work and sex workers (according to lore). She is the youngest of the four and was born of the Qliphoth Gamaliel and Nehemoth (according to my pendulum). She is very heavily associated with witchcraft and illusion and is known as the roof dancer and daughter of disease.
Her presence is youthful, and giggly and fey. She’s very like… she’s got this mischevious, sort of like pixieish energy to her, a little bit Marilyn Monroe. She acts more innocent and coy than she is because she thinks it’s funny and has a lot of trickster deity in her.
She LOVES artificial things, and like well-done costume jewellery and fake designer stuff.
She loves opalite and cubic zirconium and lab-grown gems. She also enjoys magic tricks and makeup (she and Naamah both especially like cosmetics but really all of them are into that).
These past few days with Damian have been spiritually and sexually… genuinely incredible, like “fucked by Satan” incredible. Like “bite mark bruises on my ass” incredible, like there is no part of me that doesn’t hurt incredible
Watched Magic Mike XXL with my boyfriend
And it was like honestly the sweetest thing ever

that happens in the show American Gods. The gods are weaker because people stopped believing so they scheme to make people believe in them again
Yes that is the trope I hate. I want one where they weaken because people believe in them and get stronger when they stop.
So that post-modernist trope where gods are brought into being by belief?
I want a thing where it’s the opposite, and like believing in things with no evidence of their existence actually makes them less real, like Bigfoot was real and just elusive, but belief slowly caused them to fade from reality.
Best part of the Satanic Church constitution I wrote:
Just because someone is saying they’re channelling Satan doesn’t mean they’re channelling Satan and even if they are, Satan doesn’t have church authority that trumps the democratic process and Satan would want it that way.
