Also so I was reading through a list of communists the other day and a lot of the old school ones were novelists or media creators, and like we don’t do that as much anymore.

I think we need to make more entertainment media that explains and valorizes our perspectives.

I think we need to infiltrate Hollywood

  • the people in grenfell died because they were poor.
  • the people in grenfell died because their landlord chose to spend money on flammable cladding because rich tenants in nearby penthouses didn’t like the ugly council building ruining their view.
  • the people in grenfell died because their landlord chose not to spend money on a centralised fire system or sprinklers or an additional fire escape.
  • the people in grenfell died because the tories voted against a law that would force landlords to make their buildings inhabitable and safe for their tenants.
  • the people in grenfell died because of the privatisation of social housing.
  • the people in grenfell burnt to death with their children in their arms because they were poor.

The people in Grenfell died because capitalism puts profit above human lives.

Watch as the rich feign mourning then do it all the fuck again when the dusts settled

Goddamn Watashi ga Motete Dousunda is too real about the difference between how dudes treat you when you meet standards of conventional beauty vs. when you don’t… which is like hilariously relatable but also depressing

Someone Should Write A Biography Of Rozz Williams Before Everyone Who Knew Him Is Dead

And Eva O because like they’ve just got like… fucking interesting stories (and obviously like both did some seriously fucked up shit but like that doesn’t mean I don’t want to read a biography, there’s a biography of Stalin that I think is fucking awesome, but also I’m definitely #teamrozz in terms of Christian Death Vocalists)

I Really Just Hate Punitive Justice

I feel like one common assumption we really need to fucking kill is the assumption that suffering somehow improves people, or like is either morally redemptive or improving. The fact that we talk about punitive “justice” as paying for a crime, or paying your “debt to society”? How does imprisonment or punishment or suffering “pay” anyone ANYTHING?

Like there are two things you can do to deal with people who do damage to other people 1. You can take evidence based steps to rehabilitate them and make it so they’re not likely to be a danger 2. If you can’t rehabilitate them which y’ know we can’t with some people yet (the Charles Mansons of the world) you can get them into a situation where they can’t cause further harm.

Punishment does nothing but indulge our worst impulses
