Thanks! I saw your post! Maybe I didn’t convey the comment well enough given word constraints of the “ask,” but I found the review via your tags and was responding to that. It was really fun to sniff my wrist and read your review. I felt very fan-ceeee. Anyway after 8+ hours of work, I’m sad to say it didn’t last as long on me as the Anna Sui did, but it did work well with my personal chemistry, so yay! New fave, if not an exact stand-in. Plus, the Alien bottle is ridiculous but awesome.

It is.  I also love Alien Essence Absolue

So a perfume collecting friend just gave me some of her extras including Thierry Mugler’s Alien. Curious, I hopped on your perfume tags to see if you’d reviewed it. Maybe it is just me, but it reminds me very much of Anna Sui’s 1st scent (discontinued/but maybe brought back as reformulated?) Any experience/or thoughts on this? When I heard she was discontinuing back in the early 2000s, I started hoarding what was my favorite daily scent. If Alien wears nicely, I may adopt it as a replacement!

I personally really really love Alien and have reviewed it.  I’m not terribly experienced with Anna Sui’s fragrances, I didn’t started collecting until sometime in 2013.

 Here’s my review of Alien 🙂 : 

Creamy, weird, heavy jasmine. Like “whack you over the head with a bat made (somehow) of jasmine” jasmine.

No green notes for relief just the lovely sweet, heavy languor of jasmine. It has a sort of soporific, almost opiate quality in its creamy, rich floral heaviness, and then there’s that odd quality jasmine has, I’m not talking about the animalic or indolic qualities of jasmine… more the odd synthetic… very well to be honest, alien note present in even natural fresh jasmine flowers.

Alien indeed.

Keep those glam selfies coming! I work in a kitchen (aka have to dress like a schlub daily) and want to live vicariously through your perfect eyeliner. Oh and I know I’m late in answering but on days off (when I care enough to try/or leave the house/or go OUT-out), makeup is about 1 to 1 1/2 hours plus about 30 minutes more for regular hair endeavors, 45 if adding in hair pieces. Vanity as self care, huzzah!

Will do!  Also I count my bath as part of my getting ready time, is that normal?
