So my dog, Tonka, seems to really really love cats. Like I suspect he had a cat he was bonded to wherever he lived before he was found and adopted, because like, he sees cats on the street and like wags and gets into a play bow and is just SO happy to see them, and he has like almost no prey drive so I’m pretty sure it’s not that. He also really loves baby things of any species (puppies, human babies, kittens, anything), so I think I might get him a kitten friend.

Overbreeding is a legit problem

The overbreeding of pets is something that legit bothers me. People who aren’t okay with eating animals are okay with breeding them to be so “cute” their eyes can fall out of their damned head or they can’t breathe or their digestion is compromised so they’re at vastly increased risk of bowel cancer, all to make them fit your idea of cute. Dogs shouldn’t be bred so they can’t run and jump and play to suit your aesthetic. Cats shouldn’t be bred to have no tails so they can’t jump properly. Doing that shit on purpose is messed up.

My favorite dogs are the ones people think are scary and macho

and are really just big cuddly goof balls.

Pitty, staffy, bull breeds in general. They’re just giant muscley cuddle-babies who love everybody.

My favorite cats are the ones that give zero fucks about anything and are super independent and smart and are kind of dicks. Applehead Siamese and Tonkinese are my faves.
