I don’t trust authorities that don’t share my best interests to have my best interests at heart.

They’ll tell you that people are too self interested for communism to work, but the truth is we’re too self interested for capitalism to work.  Statism and capitalism depend on a huge amount of altruism if they’re not to be barbaric, and of course we’re not altruistic enough for them not to be.  When you put one person above another, you’ve put those two people’s best interests at odds with each other, the only solution is to make our best interests best served by all helping each other out.

I Am A Communist But I Do Not Trust Charity

Charity is all too often about the emotional needs of the giver more than the material needs of the receiver, and I have seen too many academics and bourgeois political types listen to me so that they might feel altruistic, so that they might feel that they care about my struggles, but ultimately use that performance of giving a shit about marginalized people to further their own careers while continuing to do nothing to benefit me.
