Confederate Flags Are Always Horrible

But when I see them on Yankee good ol’ boys houses and pick up trucks, it adds a piquant layer of WTF to the normal vile sludge of racism.

Like we’re in New England for Chrissake, we lost a fuck ton of men down there, like your great great grandaddy might well have died fighting an army flying that symbol of hatred and oppression.  Flying a confederate flag up north should make the local good ol’ boys beat the shit out of you not get you a pat on the back.

I Really Believe It’s Crucial To Never Use The Obvious Counterargument and Always Attack Those You Disagree With Laterally.

I just managed to stump a shithead by arguing that the confederate flag is offensive to southerners who lost family members to conscription during the civil war, and that the flag is a symbol of elites who spent half their time in the north anyway oppressing real southerners (black southerners and poor white southerners) and the blood they spilled to protect their right to buy and sell people.

I then proceeded to argue that if you wanted a symbol of southern pride and a lost cause to be proud of to get some early populist party symbols (from before it made a deal with the devil and threw black members under the bus to please elites).
