Every make up video always shows people putting on eyeliner after eyeshadow, but I always mess up my eyeliner. Am I supposed to just redo the whole process for that eye?

I just like clean it up with a q-tip, pat on a little more shadow over wherever I fucked up and redo it and hope for the best… or just make my eyeliner bolder.
