Being reminded that I’m almost certainly going to spend the rest of my life in a society where I have to deal with being on the wrong side of patriarchy on a daily basis is really depressing. It’s just like “Oh right, to a lot of people I’m not really quite a person, thanks for reminding me.”

It’s just so sucky that guys who were like

My fucking counterculture heroes growing up, guys who I wanted to be like, guys whose art and lives I found inspirational as fuck don’t even think of me as human because of my gender.

It doesn’t upset me cause their work is bad, it upsets me because it can speak to me so deeply and mean so much to me and them the creator doesn’t even think I’m a person, and like they make stuff about these men that are SO cool and SO human and everything I want to be and then their women are like receptacles for angst and sexual fantasies and nothing else and it just sucks because I DO see myself in them, because they DO write characters I relate to, because they DO write stories that mean shit to me.

Like that’s why a lot of 90s comics stuff gets to me, because it does mean something to me, it does speak to me and then it’s like “Yeah but it’s not for you, fuck you”

7 Beauty Products that Make Me Feel Like a Better Feminist

This is the worst thing I’ve ever read and to compound the issue she’s into Andrea Dworkin.

Also I think this may be the straw that broke the camel’s back with me and the term feminist.  Like the word already is a problem for me in a lot of ways, considering educational background is the largest factor in determining whether a woman self-identifies as a feminist and working class women often feel alienated by the term and I just feel like instead of attempting to redefine terms that already exist and create confusion and make it so you have to go through the effort of getting people to not think of the original meaning of the term when you say it is kinda “eh” when you can just come up with a new term.
