For me, being familiar with guns, I guess I tend to find the idea of “assault weapon” bans actually rather scary because it gives the illusion of doing something without actually restricting access to what actually allows things like this to happen. Removing the bayonet lug won’t make us safe, it’ll just make us feel safe and that really scares me.

Also if you are not likely to be on the receiving end of state violence you don’t understand how scary the idea of the only people with guns being police and military personnel is.

Yeah no as a revolutionary communist I would *clearly* believe in stricter gun control laws

When I’ve said multiple times I want to abolish government entirely and believe that the revolution will likely require violent insurrection.

I wasn’t advocating a ban on handguns even if I think if you’re going to carry publicly that carrying a handgun rather than a rifle is wussing out.

Like I mean obviously the fact that I won’t have them in the house means I want them banned, just like I clearly would love to ban cilantro because it tastes like fucking soap.

I suspect gun control laws would be used to disproportionately deny access to firearms to black people and other systematically oppressed groups, which are also the groups who need access to firearms most.
