Also IDK but is it just me or is it really fucked up that we’re okay with subjecting children to treatment that would be

a blatant violation of human rights for an adult.  Like bullying is just “oh well kids will be kids” when if an adult did that to an adult that’d be assault and a serious crime and like corporal punishment is considered unacceptable for adults (although it happens often enough because people are fucking monsters) and like if IDK a college professor or something did it that would be abbarant and horrifying but somehow we’re more okay with hitting little kids?

Like somehow that’s acceptable?

I don’t understand why people demand unquestioning obedience from kids

A: Understanding why means they can extrapolate and anticipate how other shit works.

B: Teaching them authority is infallible is a great way to make sure they never solve a problem creatively or make anything better.

C: It teaches them to see you as perfect and omnipotent which is a high tower to fall off of.  Why are you so scared to say you don’t know?  I’m really looking forward to having relationships with my children as a complex and fallible human being who loves the hell out of them and would do anything for them, but still fundamentally a human being with wants and needs and drives beyond parenting.

I hate your kids. And I’m not sorry.

Okay, I don’t get hating kids, but to be fair I also don’t get loving kids, because they’re just short people with shitty motor skills. They’re individuals, some are cool, some are boring, some of them are shitty little monsters. It’s like hating people between the ages of 32 and 35, a blanket feeling about people based on age is weird to me.

Like not wanting to be around babies who are wildly unpredictable and nearly always messy, I get, but like active dislike is weird.

I hate your kids. And I’m not sorry.
