I’d really like a character who looked like me but also got to be a three dimensional complex human being

Like in media, especially comics, my body type is not just represented but over represented but it almost exclusively appears in works written by douchey bros who hate women and can’t write for shit. I’d like a character who looks like me in an ensemble cast of women with diverse body types, and she’s dolled up and that’s part of who she is, but it’s not all and she’s not presented as better or worse than her friends, she just has a look she likes doing and does it, and even though she loves heels and leopard print miniskirts she’s not always sexy or sexual.

My problems with mr robot

1. Darlene is so intentionally rock n roll groupie cool and it’s just not working for me, I don’t find her believable
2. Unique white cis het boy
3. Cynical misanthropic 90s shit
4. The “normal” slutty chick thrown under the bus to make Angela look better, which was not necessary
5. Critiquing mainstream media is kinda pointless because it all comes from a cesspool and won’t stop coming from a cesspool till after the rev but UGH uuuugh ugh

So Jane The Virgin

Is amazing.

It has everything, accidental immaculate conception, lesbian doctors, mermaid outfits, a woman of color as the main character, a mystery subplot, a telenovela voice over guy, milkshakes, a truly massive amount of marital infidelity to keep the plot interesting, ice sculptures of wizards and leopards destroying television sets.
