Police Have a Much Bigger Domestic-Abuse Problem Than the NFL Does

Police are significantly worse than the problems they’re supposed to solve

They’ve had falling solve rates for ages

They are ineffectual at preventing crime.

The system is racist and classist as fuck and people who can’t afford lawyers are imprisoned for crimes they didn’t commit

Question: As a white person, if I see a black person being menaced by a police officer

Is there anything I can do to help?  Like for example would it be helpful to pretend to know the person who is being harassed and say something along the lines of “Hey man, I was waiting for you so that we could start that book report” (or whatever depending on their age) so as to diffuse the situation, or if the age difference is great enough pretend that they’re you’re kid?

Because I know that having a white companion can protect people a little bit sometimes, or would that make the situation worse?

I’ve been googling this and I cannot find an answer.

I know that it’s usually helpful to butt in if you see a woman you don’t know looking uncomfortable when a guy is hitting on her, but I haven’t found anything on this situation.

Update: Suggestions include:

1. Asking the police officer for help, especially if you are a white lady or someone that passes for a white lady and can summon up some tears.

2. Record the police officer.

I Feel Like Black People Should Be Given A Tax Refund on The Portion Of Their Taxes That Would Have Gone To Police Salaries

Because I don’t think “guy who might kill you or one of your family members” is a service people should be asked to pay for.

I wouldn’t buy that service, it’s a terrible service (frankly they also don’t do a lick of actual work solving actual crimes either, useless bastards)  Like it’s not fair that that even exists, and it’s just a fucking insult to force people to pay for it.

If I get elected to city council when I run, I will propose a “No paying to potentially be murdered” bill.
