transmisogyny relates heavily to this i think
I thought it might, but I didn’t want to overstep… but yeah I think it really relates to that.

well flowers at least generally look or smell pretty, but I’d maintain that lawns do not generally share either of those qualities. and things that are pleasing to the senses are worthwhile on that basis alone I think, whereas lawns don’t have that redeeming value (and also require more water than most flowers)
I think that’s very relevant and I think again as I was just talking about with @baronmagdalene that the like idea that beauty is feminine and thus useless (because beauty does obvs serve a purpose in itself) is a modern capitalist construction and like that interests me.

a lot of flowers are usable as food, medicine or poison though
But like most of them aren’t used for that, and grass is useful as animal fodder but it’s not used for that. I maintain that there is no actual internal logic aside from masculinity avoiding tedious, emotional labor and insisting upon having a monopoly on violence and femininity containing shit that men don’t want to do.

because lawns serve no real purpose except to advertise “i own this land and can use it in an expensive and wasteful way that doesn’t provide me or my family with any resources”
Though like aren’t flower gardens similar?
Like there is no internal logic to masculinity and femininity.

tbf though like replacing a bunch of the BS corn subsidies with hemp subsidies would be a very good thing
After watching that documentary on Gatlin Nebraska, The Children of the Corn, you all know my feelings on corn subsidies.
