You wanna know why I take so many selfies?
Because I spend two hours a day painting a new face on top of the old one and spend like a half hour forcing my hair to cooperate, and then at the end of the day I wash off the new face. Nearly every day. So I like to commemorate the effort that went into my face

The democratization of portraiture really freaks people out
Like the fact that instead of only fancy people being able to afford having someone to paint/photograph/etc them, the selfie is a form of democratic portraiture, and that gets people mad.
