So Jane The Virgin

Is amazing.

It has everything, accidental immaculate conception, lesbian doctors, mermaid outfits, a woman of color as the main character, a mystery subplot, a telenovela voice over guy, milkshakes, a truly massive amount of marital infidelity to keep the plot interesting, ice sculptures of wizards and leopards destroying television sets.

Help me figure out what this tv show is:

It’s on an island in the 18th century, and there’s this adventurer-y guy, and he has to hide a lot (I think he might be a wanted man, or maybe he’s an American revolutionary spy) and I think Ben Franklin might be in there, and it’s a comedy series and might be called “the adventures of “some guy”” but I don’t remember his name and it was shot on a sound stage and the costumes were bad
