A sense of humour is one of the most important tools in the modern leftists toolbox.

If people shower you with overused Soviet jokes upon hearing about your politics, and you laugh along, it is a sign you are a “good sport”. A “good sport” is trusted, has rapport, and is already seen as an ally instead of an enemy.  You aren’t bad, so how can all communism be bad?

I’ve made more comrades out of my friends by playing along with their teasing and then on a quieter moment explaining the real theories behind the jokes, then by openly preaching. None of this was intentional either. So, a sense of humour must be paired with real honesty and fondness.

We are still living in a world where capitalists try to teach that communists are dictatorial baby killers. Simply existing in a way that counteracts that stereotype; being jovial and easy going instead of a Stalin wannabe, I think it will win a lot of battles for us.
