Libertarianism fails to acknowledge that hunger is a gun to your head.

And who would be holding that gun?

Whoever offers starvation wages knowing there is nothing better out there, like we tried your thing it was called the 19th century, it sucked

The Industrial Revolution lifted millions out of poverty, nice try.

Actually agrarian life in the 18th century was pretty nice.  Which is why factory workers looked back on it as a period of peace, and why Luddites existed.  It lifted people out of a poverty it created by making previous modes of production untenable.  There was also all the poisoned food, clothing, dangerous machinery and unregulated crap that killed millions.

That said I’m glad of efficient modes of production, but I don’t think we had to have the mass starvation, overcrowding that lead to waves of horrible disease, poisoning of consumers and mutilation of child workers.
